Guacamole & Cheese stuffed Burgers

In going low carb one of the things I missed most was burgers. So I’d make those my weekly cheat meal, homemade burgers on white bread buns with cheese, onions and tomato on top, covered in tomato ketchup and burger sauce.. Mmm mmmm.

For anyone whose gone gluten free though you’ll understand the difference you feel whenever you decide to eat anything like that again. The bloating, the lethargy, the blood sugar spike and subsequent crash.. So I had to find a way to make good tasting burgers I could eat naked (wrapped in lettuce) without using my previous secret ingredient…. Breadcrumbs. (Trust me – they make all the difference)

Hence this recipe. It’s full of protein, healthy fats and it tastes gooooood. In fact I made it 3 days in a row at one point, I might have got a little carried away.. Anyways, I figured I’d share it with you good people so we can all enjoy the low carb, gluten free, keto friendly goodness.. Enjoy! 🙂

Guacamole & Cheese stuffed Burgers
Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 15 minutes
6 burgers
  • 500 g Grass fed beef
  • 1 tbsp Paprika
  • 1 tbsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp Cayenne Pepper
  • 1/2 chopped Onion
  • Pinch Salt
  • Pepper to taste
  • 1 large egg
  • Grated Cheese of your choice (I used cheddar)
  • Guacamole
  1. Mix all of the ingredients together in a bowl.
  2. Take a handful of the mixture and roll it into a ball, then flatten it on a baking tray lined with foil.
  3. Press down in the middle of the patty to make a small well for the guacamole and cheese.
  4. Do this for half of the mixture.
  5. Fill each of the patties with 1 1/2 teaspoons of guacamole and a sprinkling of cheese.
  6. Take a handful of the leftover mixture like before and flatten it into a patty in your hand.
  7. Careful place it over each stuffed patty, making sure to pinch it at the edges to stop the contents spilling out. Do this for all the patties.
  8. Place the burgers under the grill or in the oven on 170 until cooked, making sure to turn them halfway through.
  9. Enjoy!
