In going low carb one of the things I missed most was burgers. So I’d make those my weekly cheat meal, homemade burgers on white bread buns with cheese, onions and tomato on top, covered in tomato ketchup and burger sauce.. Mmm mmmm.
For anyone whose gone gluten free though you’ll understand the difference you feel whenever you decide to eat anything like that again. The bloating, the lethargy, the blood sugar spike and subsequent crash.. So I had to find a way to make good tasting burgers I could eat naked (wrapped in lettuce) without using my previous secret ingredient…. Breadcrumbs. (Trust me – they make all the difference)
Hence this recipe. It’s full of protein, healthy fats and it tastes gooooood. In fact I made it 3 days in a row at one point, I might have got a little carried away.. Anyways, I figured I’d share it with you good people so we can all enjoy the low carb, gluten free, keto friendly goodness.. Enjoy! 🙂
